Liverpool University Surf Club was originally formed in 1988 in association with the old polytechnic, now John Moore's University but was only granted offical status as an Athletics Union club in 1992-93 making Mike Stretton-Cox the founding Captain of the club as it is today.

Since the early 90's the club has grown from a small group of surfers camping on a beach every few months to one of the biggest clubs in Liverpools AU running trips every two weeks throughout term time with its own board store and a full range of boards and wetsuits as well as a full year of social events.

The club has also been competing in the British Universities Surf Championships since 1994 and continue to do so each year. For more information on previous club captains please visit the hall of fame and if you can fill in any gaps please get in touch.
